DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND CLIENT BRIEF
To design and convert a 150-year-old barn to a 5 bedroom luxury family home along with a new build garage / workshop in keeping with the existing building. The scope encompassed the design, planning application process, build control and regulations, the planning and scheduling of both finances and timing, project management, and the procurement of all materials along with using the most modern and sophisticated methods available.
The layout took advantage of the impeccable views over the Lune Valley. Whilst retaining its original character, the property was required to possess modern amenities required by a family such as pre-wired in ceiling speakers and media systems. Sustainability was assured by high performance insulation systems, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system and an air source heat pump supplying the underfloor heating.
